Pistol used in campus chief’s murder recovered

KATHMANDU: An accused has been arrested by Bara Police in connection with the murder of Hari Bhushan Kushwaha, the former head of Ram Raja Mohan Bikram Campus.

Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Dadhiram Nyaupane reported that 42-year-old Harinder Mahara Chamar from Baragadhi Rural Municipality-5 Charamantpathara was apprehended.

Authorities confiscated a homemade pistol, an automatic pistol manufactured in the United States, one round of ammunition, and a magazine from him.

Kushwaha was murdered on June 14 in front of a temple located between Adarsh Kotwal Rural Municipality-3 Batra and Bhatiniya.

So far, seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, but the main culprits remain at large.

To apprehend the primary suspects, the police are maintaining continuous contact with security officials in neighboring India.

Neupane noted that community leaders, campus management committees, staff, politicians, and students are all pressuring the authorities to arrest the main shooters.

Kushwaha’s murder has spread fear throughout the district.

In the past eight months, four people have been shot dead in Bara.
