Pratik Thapa, son of ex-minister Badal, to be held in custody over refugee fraud

KATHMANDU: Pratik Thapa, a key figure in the fake Bhutanese refugee case, has been ordered by the Kathmandu District Court to be sent to custody for opposing parties.

Judge Shakuntala Karki issued the directive.

Pratik is the son of former Home Minister and Deputy Chair of the CPN-UML Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal).

Pratik was arrested by the CBI team on June 28 from Bouddha after an arrest warrant was issued in the fake Bhutanese refugee case.
