KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has decided not to resign.

Maoist officials convened suddenly at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday and decided to face the vote of confidence.

Secretary Devendra Poudel stated that the Prime Minister has decided to face the vote of confidence.

“We also support the party unanimously,” he said. “We have reached an agreement after discussions with various factions including Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Congress, and various factions of the CPN-UML to move forward.”

Alongside the decision not to resign, preparations are underway within the CPN-UML to withdraw support for the government by resigning ministers.

Therefore, the Prime Minister has 30 days under the constitution to take the vote of confidence.
