Five of family found hanged in central India

KATHMANDU: In India’s central state of Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident unfolded as five family members, including a husband, wife, and three children, were discovered hanging inside their home.

The bodies of Rakesh Dodwa (27), his wife Lalita Dodwa (25) and their sons Prakash (7) and Akshay (5) were found hanging next to each other from the ceiling of their kuchha house with rope, while the body of their daughter, Laxmi (9), was found lying on the floor, an official said.

Police initially reported that all five bodies were found hanging in the house.

However, later information from a villager indicated that the couple and their two sons were discovered hanging, while the girl’s body was found on the floor of their residence in Ravdi village.

The police official received the report about the deaths of five individuals in Ravdi village, Sondwa tehsil, at 9:20 AM on Monday.

A senior police official stated that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to thoroughly investigate the incident, with the deceased’s bodies sent for post-mortem examination.
