KATHMANDU: Representative Shanti B.K. has demanded stringent legal action from the government against the perpetrator of a rape incident in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-12, Khotang, during an unexpected session of the House of Representatives on Monday.
She urged for a thorough legal investigation, stating that even schools, considered sacred places, are no longer safe for girls.
She emphasized the need for strict legal measures to deliver justice to the victim and prevent such incidents from recurring in society.
Similarly, Representative Binita Khatiyat has urged legal action against the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, citing disturbances caused by the Nepal Student Union and Tarun Dal, affiliated with the Nepali Congress, through unlawful activities.
She mentioned concerns about the future of the hospital due to encirclement and unauthorized actions by Congress leaders, saying, “Using youths and students to disrupt the peaceful environment of the institute is an illegal step. I demand immediate legal action and attention from the government to ensure the security of health workers and staff.”
