KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast increased monsoon activity across Nepal until Saturday.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts substantial rainfall in various regions throughout this period.

During the monsoon season, significant rainfall is expected in several areas, ranging from light to moderate showers.

Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is likely in isolated places of State 1, Bagmati State, Gandaki State, and Lumbini State.

Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and exercise caution until at least July 20.

In Koshi State, significant rainfall is anticipated in Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Ilam, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, and Okhaldhunga, posing a high flood risk according to the Meteorological Division.

Similarly, Bagmati Province, including Makwanpur, Chitwan, Sindhupalchok, and Dolakha, and Gandaki Province, including Myagdi, Baglung, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahu, Nawalparasi East, and Lamjung, are also under high risk.

In Lumbini Province, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Nawalparasi West, Rolpa, and Rukum East are at high risk of flooding.

There is no such high risk in State 2 and Sudurpaschim.
