KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) has conducted a financial literacy program simultaneously across its 233 branch offices.

The program was organized under the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiative, targeting various groups identified as having limited access to financial services.

According to the bank, the programs held in all seven provinces saw participation from over 35,000 individuals, including farmers, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, laborers, potential migrant workers, students, women, remittance recipients, and local youth.

Specifically, the participation figures were 3,500 in Koshi Province, 2,200 in Madhesh, 15,000 in Bagmati, 5,500 in Gandaki, 6,000 in Lumbini, 500 in Karnali, and more than 2,500 in Sudurpashchim.

Throughout the fiscal year 2080/81, GIBL has been conducting financial literacy and digital banking promotion programs through its branches across all 77 districts of the country.

The program covered topics such as savings, loans, remittances, digital banking, insurance, investment, additional banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline.
