Nepal Army rescued 63-year-old man injured in landslide after 3 days

KATHMANDU: A 63-year-old man, Padam Bahadur Limbu from Mamkhe, Sirijangha Rural Municipality-6, Taplejung, who was injured in a landslide, has been rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter.

Limbu was seriously injured by a landslide while returning home after receiving relief materials distributed by the ward office.

He was airlifted by the Nepal Army and taken to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar, according to the District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravi Rawal stated that Limbu was swept away by a landslide approximately 15 meters down to Hangkhola on Friday evening while returning home with relief materials. He suffered severe head injuries.

Villagers initially rescued Limbu and provided him with first aid at a local health facility. The landslides, which occurred from June 14 to June 18, have caused significant damage in Mamkhe.
