KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecast Division has announced that river levels are expected to rise significantly over the next three days.

The division has advised residents in at least 19 districts to exercise high caution due to the risk of flooding today.

According to the division, river flows are expected to increase in several districts, including Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi West, Nawalparasi East, Palpa, Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, Myagdi, Baglung, Dang, Rolpa, Banke, Bardiya, and their surrounding areas.

There is also a moderate risk of flash floods in some rivers.

The division has indicated that water levels in the Koshi, Narayani, and Karnali rivers and their tributaries, as well as the Bagmati, Kamala, East Rapti, West Rapti, and Babai rivers, are expected to rise significantly.

Therefore, activities in riverine areas should be carried out with extreme caution.
