KATHMANDU: The blood stock is decreasing in the regional blood transfusion service centre run by the Nepal Red Cross Society in Dhangadhi.

Patients from the hilly districts of the Far West come to Dhangadhi for treatment of various diseases and they may need immediate blood.
Relatives of patients admitted to the hospital for treatment have to suffer in search of blood. Lately, the blood donation programme in the district is in decline.
Relatives of patients are failing to find fresh donors from their own sides”, he said, “Even though we are trying to find blood donors, it is slow to get blood easily.”
Meanwhile, some patients’ surgery has been delayed due to not getting blood on time.
Around 50 to 60 units of blood have been supplied daily from the centre.
