Argentina clinches third consecutive Copa America cictory with win over Peru

KATHMANDU: Argentina secured their third consecutive victory in the Copa America on Sunday.

In their final group stage match, Argentina defeated Peru 2-0 with goals from Lautaro Martinez in the 47th and 86th minutes. Martinez has now scored a total of four goals in this tournament.

Following this win, Argentina topped Group A with 9 points, securing a place in the quarterfinals as the group winners.

Former champions Argentina remain unbeaten with a perfect record in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Canada has also advanced to the quarterfinals from Group A after a goalless draw against Chile in their final group stage match.

Chile and Peru have been eliminated from the competition from Group A.
