KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of monsoon winds across the country.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is occurring in some places in Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki States, and in a few places in the remaining States.

Daytime Weather Forecast

During the daytime, the weather is expected to be generally to fully cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, and in a few places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim States. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in one or two locations in Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Karnali States.

Nighttime Weather Forecast

At night, the weather is expected to be generally to fully cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, and in a few locations in other regions.

Disasters Result in 14 Deaths

On Wednesday alone, there were 44 disaster-related incidents in various districts.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), these incidents resulted in 14 deaths, and two people are reported missing.

NDRRMA spokesperson, Undersecretary Dr. Dijan Bhattarai, stated that 10 people were injured and that the total economic loss across all affected areas exceeds 19 million Nepalese Rupees.

According to the authority, landslides have caused eight deaths and five injuries. Lightning has resulted in five deaths and three injuries.

Floods have caused one death, two people are missing, and one person is injured.
