KATHMANDU: Actor Tamayo Perry, known for his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” tragically passed away in a shark attack while surfing in Hawaii.

Perry, aged 49 and hailing from Oahu, had a diverse career in acting, appearing in notable productions like “Lost,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.” He also featured in a Coca-Cola advertisement. Beyond acting, Perry was a professional surfer for over a decade, with a reputation for tackling challenging waves, including what he described as “the world’s deadliest wave.”
Honolulu Ocean Safety chief Kurt Lager expressed the community’s profound loss, describing Perry as a beloved lifeguard with an infectious personality. Mayor Rick Blangiardi echoed Lager’s sentiments, emphasizing Perry’s legendary status as a waterman and his significant contributions to ocean safety.
