KATHMANDU: Colombia has made a victorious start in the Copa América football tournament.

In the Group ‘D’ match that concluded this morning, Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-1 to kick off their campaign with a win.

In the match held at NRG Stadium in Houston, USA, Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma each scored a goal for Colombia.

Paraguay’s lone goal came from Julio Enciso.

Colombia took the lead in the 32nd minute when Daniel Muñoz found the back of the net.

Ten minutes later, Jefferson Lerma scored, giving Colombia a 2-0 advantage by the end of the first half.

In the 69th minute, Julio Enciso scored for Paraguay, bringing the score to 2-1.

However, with no further goals, Colombia secured the victory with a final score of 2-1.
