KATHMANDU: India has secured its second consecutive win in the Super Eight stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Last night, India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs in a Group 1 match of the Super Eight stage.

Chasing a target of 197 runs set by India, Bangladesh managed to score 146 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Earlier, India, after losing the toss and being sent to bat first, scored 196 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a half-century from Hardik Pandya.

With this victory, India now has 4 points from 2 matches in Group 1 and is close to securing a spot in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Bangladesh’s chances of reaching the semifinals have become slim following their second consecutive loss in the Super Eight stage.

India will face Australia in their final Super Eight match on Monday night, while Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan on Tuesday morning.
