Acharya' re-released after 13 years, 'Daanvi' debuts with a star-studded cast.
KATHMANDU: Starting today, two Nepali movies, ‘Acharya’ and ‘Daanvi,’ have been released.
The movie ‘Acharya’ is based on the life of the late Bhajan Shiromani singer Bhaktaraj Acharya and was initially made thirteen years ago.
With some scenes edited, the movie has been re-released starting today.
Directed by Prashant Rasaily, the film stars Bhaktaraj Acharya’s son, Satyaraj Acharya, in the role of his father.
“We released the movie 13 years ago. At that time, there were fewer digital theaters and fewer audiences for such films. After receiving requests to re-release my father’s movie, we have decided to bring it back,” said singer and actor Satyaraj Acharya.
Alongside Satyaraj Acharya, the movie features performances by Sunil Pokharel, Aruna Karki, Dayahang Rai, Bipin Karki, Saugat Malla, among others.
Singer Bhaktaraj Acharya passed away on February 26 at the age of 82.
The movie ‘Daanvi,’ also released today, stars actress Pooja Sharma along with Kunsang Bomjan, Kiran Shrestha, Vishal Pahadi, Rajaram Paudel, and other artists.
Directed by Rupesh Tamang, the film has been shot in both Nepal and India.
