KATHMANDU: The cabinet meeting is scheduled to take place.

The regular meeting that was supposed to take place on Friday has been postponed, and instead, a meeting has been called for today.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The government is preparing to appoint ambassadors from 11 different countries in the meeting.

The meeting of the three major parties in power, held on Friday, has agreed to divide the ambassadors among the three parties.

Discussions between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane have left vacant the ambassadorial positions for the 11 countries.

According to sources, the CPN-UML is likely to receive ambassadors from eight countries, the Rastriya Janata Party from two, and the Maoists from one country.

However, the United Socialist Party has also claimed ambassadorial positions, which could lead to some changes.

In the previous cabinet meeting held on June 6, ambassadors from India, America, Britain, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Denmark, Israel, Qatar, and Portugal were recalled.
