Elderly woman dies in Jhapa vehicle hit; separate bus-tipper crash injures 21

KATHMANDU: An elderly woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Jhapa.
The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Tankamaya Subedi, a resident of Ratuwamai Municipality-8 in Morang.
The accident occurred at 8:40 AM in front of One Stop Mall in Birtamode Municipality-5 while Subedi was crossing the road. She was struck by a vehicle with the registration number May 1 Ja 6613.
Subedi was critically injured in the collision and was rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamode, where she was pronounced dead at 9 AM, according to the District Traffic Police Office.
Likewise, in a separate incident, a tipper truck with the registration number Ba 3 Kha 2166 traveling east collided with a passenger bus with the registration number Ko 1 Kha 5087 heading in the opposite direction on the East-West Highway in Kamal Rural Municipality-4, Jhapa.
The collision resulted in injuries to 21 passengers on the bus.
Police reported that three of the injured passengers are in critical condition.
Further investigations are ongoing regarding both incidents.
