16-year-old girl dies of lightning struck in Morang

KATHMANDU: A teenage girl passed away this Tuesday morning after being struck by lightning in Ratuwamai Municipality-4, Morang.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet, the incident occurred when a 16-year-old girl named Bipana Mahato, who was staying at home, suffered a severe injury around 7:30 a.m. by lightning.

Upon receiving the report, medical assistance was immediately sought, and the unconscious girl was rushed to Rangeli Hospital for treatment.

However, she was pronounced dead by doctors at 8:30 a.m.

The police have informed that further investigation into the incident is underway, and the body has been kept at Rangeli Hospital for autopsy examination.
