KATHMANDU: To cope with the extreme heat and constant dry circumstances, people of Dhangadhi, Nepal, turned to an old tradition: frog marriage.

This one-of-a-kind event took place despite the fact that the ongoing monsoon season failed to produce the anticipated rain.

The ceremony was organized by the Gothalo Dairy located in Hasanpur, Ward No. 5 of the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, as a means to appeal for rain.

The Gothalo Dairy in Hasanpur, located in Ward No. 5 of the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, spearheaded this effort.

The dairy organized the wedding of two frogs early on Monday morning, believing that this ritual would appease the rain gods and result in much-needed precipitation.

By marrying the frogs, the community aims to restore balance and bring relief from the heat.

As the wedding concluded, participants and onlookers expressed their hopes and prayers for rain, trusting that this age-old tradition would once again prove effective in invoking the mercy of the weather deities.
