SYDNEY: Two children and one man have died after a fatal traffic accident in the Australian state of Queensland on Monday.

Queensland Police confirmed in a statement that at around 11:00 a.m. local time, a utility truck and a sedan crashed along Dalby Jandowae Road at Jimbour East.

The sedan was carrying four occupants when the incident occurred.

A man and two children sustained critical injuries before being declared deceased at the scene, while a woman was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

The state police noted that a forensic crash unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Located approximately 180 km northwest of Brisbane, Jimbour East is a rural town with a population of 197 people, according to Australia’s 2021 Census.
