Chinese National held with 6 Kg of gold & 4.8 million rupees in cash

KATHMANDU: A Chinese national has been arrested in Kapan, Kathmandu, with approximately 6 kilograms of gold and 4.8 million Nepalese rupees in cash.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police apprehended him last night along with the gold and cash.

The CIB has not yet disclosed the details of the arrested Chinese national. However, it has been reported that the individual had previously been involved in gold smuggling and was already on the police’s wanted list.

According to police sources, the seized gold is estimated to weigh around 6 kilograms, with the exact measurement still pending.
