Missing woman found dead in Dhanusha; husband confesses to murder

KATHMANDU: A woman who had been missing for eight days from Mahendranagar in Dhanusha has been found dead.

The body of 36-year-old Ruby Yadav from Ward No. 5, Mahendranagar, Kshireshwarnath Municipality, was discovered in a decomposed state on Saturday, according to the police.

Sonu Kumar Sah, the police inspector in charge at the Area Police Office in Mahendranagar, reported that Ruby’s body was found in the Aurahi Community Forest located in Ward No. 5, Mithila Municipality.

Ruby’s husband, Rajnarayan Yadav, had returned from foreign employment a few months ago, and the couple had been constantly quarreling since his return.

Ruby’s brother, Anit, had filed a missing person report at the Area Police Office in Mahendranagar after she disappeared last Saturday.

Following the report, the police conducted a search in potential locations and discovered Ruby’s body in the Aurahi Community Forest on Saturday night, as stated by Inspector Sah.

Following the missing person’s report, the police took Ruby’s husband, Rajnarayan Yadav, into custody.

He confessed to killing his wife.

According to Inspector Sah, Rajnarayan admitted to taking Ruby to the Aurahi Community Forest on the pretext of going for a walk last Saturday, where he murdered her and disposed of the body in the forest.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination at the Provincial Hospital.

Inspector Sah informed that further investigation is underway and preparations are being made to charge the suspect with murder.
