Night bus plunged into Trishuli River: 20 injured, 5 critical

An eyewitness reported that in an attempt to save the car from being hit, the bus itself toppled onto the riverbank.

KATHMANDU: Two vehicles collided near Phisling Bazaar in the vicinity of the Prithvi Highway in Chitwan this morning, resulting in injuries to 20 individuals, with five in critical condition.

A passenger bus with registration number Ba 1 Kha 4060, travelling from Nepalgunj towards Kathmandu, veered off near the Trishuli River.

Similarly, a car with registration number Bagmati State 02-039 Cha 3720, en route from Kathmandu towards Muglin, collided with the bus and plunged into the riverbank.

An eyewitness reported that in an attempt to save the car from being hit, the bus itself toppled onto the riverbank.

According to the District Traffic Police Office in Gajuri, five passengers in the car are severely injured, while all 45 passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries.

The injured in critical condition from the car have been sent for treatment to Chitwan, as informed by Inspector Rabindra Kumar Shrestha of the District Traffic Police Office in Gajuri.
