Sandeep set to play the World Cup in West Indies
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Sunday through a press release that Sandeep will be included in the squad for the matches in the West Indies.

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national cricket team member Sandeep Lamichhane is set to play the final two T20 World Cup matches in the West Indies.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Sunday through a press release that Sandeep will be included in the squad for the matches in the West Indies.
Initially, there was a high probability that Sandeep would miss the World Cup after the US Embassy in Nepal denied him a visa twice.
However, he will now be playing against South Africa and Bangladesh.
The press release mentioned that Sandeep has been part of Nepal’s official squad since May 16. “Although he has not received a US visa, we would like to inform you that, in coordination with the ICC, Sandeep will be present for Nepal’s two matches against South Africa and Bangladesh in the West Indies,” the statement read.
The release also addressed negative remarks directed at CAN regarding Sandeep’s visa issues, asserting that they are not true.
In Group D, Nepal lost their game against the Netherlands in Dallas by 6 wickets.
Their second match is scheduled against Sri Lanka in Florida on Tuesday.
