HoR meeting postponed

The decision to postpone the meeting for two days was made by a meeting of the chiefs of the main parties, including the Prime Minister's Chief Whip, held at the Speker residence in Baluwatar, this morning.

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting scheduled for today has been postponed.

The main whips of the major political parties met this morning at Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s official house and decided to postpone the meeting for two days to analyze the budget book.

The discussion of the appropriation measure was slated to begin today.

It will now be held beginning June 11.

The meeting has been postponed as parties requested time for ministry-wise discussions under the Appropriation Bill, 2081, the Speaker’s Secretariat has said.

Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Nepali Congress Whip Sushila Thing, CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, CPN (Maoist Center) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi were present in the meeting.

Likewise, Chief Secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal and General Secretary of Federal Parliament Padma Prasad Pandeya attended the meeting.
