PM Dahal heads to India for Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, here’s the itinerary

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to lead a delegation to India.
Prachanda, accompanied by a five-member delegation, will depart for New Delhi this afternoon to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi.
The delegation includes the Prime Minister’s daughter and personal secretary, Ganga Dahal; Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri; Foreign Secretary, Seva Lamsal; and other high-ranking government officials.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to take the oath of office for his third term this evening.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, a meeting between Prime Minister Dahal and Modi is scheduled for this evening, according to the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Dahal is expected to return to Nepal tomorrow.
He had informed President Ram Chandra Poudel about his visit to India during their meeting on Saturday.
The Cabinet meeting on Thursday decided that Prime Minister Dahal would attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Previously, in Jestha, Prime Minister Dahal also made an official visit to India.
In 2014, then Prime Minister Sushil Koirala attended Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Upon assuming leadership of India, Modi invited heads of state and government from South Asian nations to the ceremony, in line with his ‘Neighborhood First’ foreign policy.
