KATHMANDU: The Cabinet has approved Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi is preparing to take the oath for his third term as Prime Minister, and the Cabinet’s approval for Prime Minister Dahal’s visit comes at this significant time.
Modi had extended an invitation to Prime Minister Prachanda for the swearing-in ceremony.
During the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma announced the decision to send a delegation led by Prime Minister Dahal to attend the Indian Prime Minister’s oath-taking event.
The delegation members have also been finalized.
The team accompanying the Prime Minister includes Law Minister Padam Giri, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, the Prime Minister’s daughter and private secretary Ganga Dahal, and Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bishnu Gautam.
The delegation, led by Prime Minister Dahal, is scheduled to leave for India on Sunday at the official invitation of Indian Prime Minister Modi.
