1 child killed, 3 injured in blast in east Afghanistan
The explosion of the device later killed a child on the spot while injuring three others, the official said.

MAHMUD-E-RAQI, Afghanistan: At least one child was killed and three others were injured as a mortar round exploded in east Afghanistan’s Kapisa province late Thursday, provincial police spokesman Abdul Fateh Fayez said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Police District 9 of the provincial capital city of Mahmud-e-Raqi, when The victims found a mortar round left over from past wars.
The explosion of the device later killed a child on the spot while injuring three others, the official said.
Afghanistan reportedly is one of the most mine-contaminated countries, and the unexploded devices left over from more than four decades of wars claim the lives of over a dozen people, mostly children, each month in the country.
