Former Vice-Chair of the organization held in Bal Mandir land scandal
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police apprehended Shrestha on Friday from Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU: Tulsi Narayan Shrestha, the former Vice Chair of the Child Organization, has been arrested in connection with the land misuse case involving the Bal Mandir property located in Naxal, Kathmandu.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police apprehended Shrestha on Friday from Kathmandu.
Previously, the District Court of Kathmandu had issued arrest warrants for 20 individuals in connection with the lease of the Bal Mandir land.
The CIB stated that Shrestha was arrested for investigation on charges of conducting commercial activities on the land, implicating former officials of the organization.
According to a CIB official, those with arrest warrants are accused of causing harm to the Nepal Child Organization by repeatedly renewing contracts at minimal rates from 2049 BS (1992 AD) to 2072 BS (2015 AD) and maliciously renewing the lease agreement set to expire in 2089 BS (2032 AD) before its actual expiration.
It has been reported that approximately 28 ropani, 5 aana, and 1 paisa of land in Naxal have been leased out for an annual rent of NPR 10.9 million (as per the latest agreement).
