Weather: Thunderstorms, rain, and light snow expected in various States

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has reported that the current weather in Nepal is being influenced by local winds, partial effects of westerly winds, and a low-pressure area extending from western Uttar Pradesh to West Bengal in India.

Current Weather Conditions:

• In the Koshi, Madhesh, and Karnali States, as well as the hilly regions of the country, there is partly to generally cloudy weather.
  The rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.
• Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is occurring in a few places in Koshi and Gandaki States, and at one or two places in Madhesh and Karnali States.

Afternoon Forecast:

• Partly to generally cloudy weather is expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, as well as in the hilly regions of the country.
• The rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.
• Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, and in one or two places in Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali States.

Wind and Snowfall:

• There is a possibility of windstorms in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Karnali, and Lumbini States.
• Light snowfall is expected in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

Night Forecast:

• Partly to generally cloudy weather will persist in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.
• Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali States, and in one or two places in the rest of the country.
