KATHMANDU: Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City has implemented the use of a ‘Road Washer with Low Sprinkler.’

This device utilizes water from tanks to sprinkle water on roads, effectively settling the dust.

According to the Mayor of Itahari, Hemkarna Paudel, this device not only washes roads but also sprays water on roadside plants and removes settled dust from tree leaves.

He emphasized, ‘This tool serves the dual purpose of road cleaning and enhancing greenery along the roads and also help in extinguishing the fire during the fire.’

Mayor Paudel highlighted that the purchase of this equipment aligns with the city’s initiative to create cleaner and greener smart roads, aiming for overall urban beautification and environmental enhancement.

The Road Washer with Low Sprinkler, acquired for 6.5 million rupees, is part of Itahari’s commitment to support the city’s cleanliness and aesthetic goals.

Mayor Paudel stated, ‘We will utilize this equipment based on the necessity and prepare schedules accordingly within the sub-metropolitan area.’

Technical experts suggest that besides maintaining cleanliness, this initiative will also contribute to fire prevention during dry seasons.
