Weather Update: Nepal experiences variable conditions across regions

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing partial effects of local winds and westerly winds, along with the partial influence of a low-pressure area extending from western Uttar Pradesh, India to western Bangladesh.

Morning Weather

At present, Koshi, Madhesh, and Sudurpashchim States, along with the hilly regions of the country, are experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions. The rest of the country is seeing partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. Light rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at one or two places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali States.

Afternoon Forecast

In the afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, as well as the hilly regions of the country, are expected to have partly to generally cloudy conditions. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, and at one or two places in the remaining regions. Additionally, one or two places in Gandaki and Lumbini States may experience windstorms. Light snowfall is possible at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

Night Forecast

At night, partly to generally cloudy conditions will persist in Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki States, as well as the hilly regions of the country. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhehs, and Gandaki States, and at one or two places in the remaining regions.
