KATHMANDU: A significant health agreement was signed last Sunday between Kathmandu Medical College Pvt. Ltd. (First Party) and the Nepal Public Relations Committee Qatar (Second Party).

The agreement aims to provide quality medical treatment at a discounted rate to all non-resident Nepalis living in Qatar and Nepali workers residing there for employment purposes.

This initiative, facilitated through the recommendation of the Nepal Public Relations Committee Qatar, seeks to ensure affordable and high-quality healthcare at Kathmandu Medical College Hospital.

Points of Agreement:

1. Upon the recommendation of the second party, the first party shall provide hospital services to non-resident Nepalis residing in Qatar and Nepali workers in Qatar who come to the first party’s hospital for medical treatment. These services (including MRI, CT scan, and laboratory tests) will be provided with the following discounts:

a) A 50% discount will be available for outpatient department consultations.

b) A 50% discount will be available for inpatient treatment.

c) Dependent family members (parents, spouses, and unmarried children) of Nepali workers in Qatar will receive a 15% discount on hospital services.

d) If an ambulance of the first party is used for transporting patients from Tribhuvan International Airport to Kathmandu Medical College located in Sinamangal, a fee of only NPR 500 will be charged.

2. Patients seeking treatment must present an identification document and a recommendation letter issued by the second party, which includes the patient’s name, address, age, and economic status. For the dependent family members of Nepali workers in Qatar, it is mandatory to present an identification document of the Nepali worker in Qatar and a document proving the relationship with the patient.

3. The first party will provide special attention to the treatment of patients referred by the second party.

4. This facility will be available only for hospital services outside the cabin. This facility will not be available for medicines, medicinal materials, implants, stents, pacemakers, and similar items.

5. In cases where patients are covered under the health insurance of the Government of Nepal, the medication and treatment for the economically disadvantaged, and other free treatment services, these services will be given priority. Only after these services are exhausted will the facilities under this agreement be implemented.

This agreement shall be effective from the date of signing and will remain valid until the end of Ashad 2082.

After this period, the agreement may be renewed based on mutual consent, taking into consideration its effectiveness, as stated by the hospital.
