Road Division constructs road in place designated for footpath by KMC (photos)

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Division Road Office has taken the initiative to repair the road section that was demolished by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to construct a footpath.
Despite previous directives for the metropolitan to address the damaged roads, the division office has commenced the repair work independently.
Previously, the road division office had issued a warning that necessary action would be taken within two days by the KMC.
On May 25, the KMC removed the asphalt on the road stretching from Indra Chowk to Juddhashalik, near a major market, to widen the footpath along New Road.
At that time, the division office also seized control of the construction materials belonging to the metropolitan.
Following the divisional road office’s initiative to repair the road, Mayor Balendra Sah of the KMC expressed frustration, drawing parallels between CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and Giribandhu T-State.
