21-year-old boy held for nearly 1.7 million fraud through social media

KATHMANDU: The police have arrested a person who cheated by saying that he had sent millions of dollars from abroad by talking through social networks Facebook and WhatsApp.

The arrested person is 21-year-old Birbal Gharti Magar of Ward No. 9, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City of Dang and residing in Mitranagar.

Gharti Magar was arrested from Kathmandu by the team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

The police investigation concluded that he cheated 16 lakh 62 thousand from 3 victims.

He has been sent to District Police Complex Teku for legal action.
