44-year-old man dies in road accident in Itahari

KATHMANDU: A man died in an accident in Itahari.
The accident took place at Itahari-1 Aapagachi on Sunday night around 7:25 pm.
The accident occurred when a car registered State 1-02-002 Cha 6306 heading from Itahari to Dharan collided with a scooter numbered Ko 1 Pa 749 moving on the wrong side.
The scooter driver, identified as 44-year-old Dhiraj Gautam from Morang’s Kanepokhari-1, succumbed to his injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, where he was undergoing treatment for critical injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the car, identified as 41-year-old Ramesh Niroula from Triyuga- 3 in Udayapur, has been taken into custody by the local police for further investigation into the incident.
The authorities have initiated an additional investigation into the matter.
