KATHMANDU: Weather experts predict significant changes in weather patterns due to the influence of local and westerly winds, along with a low-pressure system stretching from Uttar Pradesh to Bangladesh.

Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in select areas of Koshi and Gandaki States.

Throughout the afternoon, hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali States, will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

There’s a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in various places within these States, and possibly a storm in Lumbini State.

Additionally, light snowfall may occur in some high hilly and Himalayan areas.

Tonight, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies over hilly areas, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions, with potential rain in certain regions.

The monsoon is forecasted to arrive in Nepal by June 13, with a probability of above-average rainfall across most parts of the country.

The monsoon has already reached northeastern India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sikkim, indicating its imminent arrival in Nepal.

Meteorologists suggest a potential early entry into the Koshi State, possibly within the next three to five days, as the monsoon air becomes more active.
