Six Indian tourists injured in Chitwan jeep accident
The injured are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Ratnanagar and Bharatpur.
KATHMANDU: A jeep carrying tourists met with an accident in Chitwan, resulting in six Indian nationals being injured.
The jeep, bearing registration number Na 4 Ch 8855, was on its way to Chitwan National Park via Kumroj Community Forest when it crashed near Darai Tal in Khairahani Municipality-12 today.
According to Bheshraj Rijal, the spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, the accident occurred because the jeep went out of control.
The injured individuals are all residents of Bendali Thana in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, as reported by the police.
The injured tourists include 52-year-old Susmita Sudesh Khadia, 74-year-old Rekharamchandra Jadhav, 60-year-old Sudeshshankar Khadia, 64-year-old Vijay More, 58-year-old Vaishali Gupteshwar, and 62-year-old Pankaj Gupteshwar.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Ratnanagar and Bharatpur.
The police have taken the driver, 45-year-old Santakumar Chaudhary of Ratnanagar Municipality-4, Chitwan, into custody.
