Weather: Rain and storms expected in 4 states

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division has indicated that local westerly winds are having a minor impact on Nepal, as well as a low-pressure system spanning from West Uttar Pradesh to West Bangladesh in India.

Presently, the weather is mostly clear in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim States.

The rest of the country is also experiencing predominantly clear skies.

However, isolated locations within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim State are witnessing light rain, thunder, lightning, and windstorms.

Afternoon Forecast

This afternoon, the weather is anticipated to be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

There is a potential for light to moderate rain with accompanying thunder and lightning in several areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States. Similar conditions may occur sporadically across other regions as well.

Moreover, Gandaki and Lumbini States might experience isolated storms.

High Altitude Weather

In the high hilly and Himalayan regions, there is a chance of light snowfall in one or two places.

Night Forecast

Tonight, the weather will remain clear in the hilly areas, including Koshi and Bagmati provinces, while other regions will experience partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in a few places within Koshi and Bagmati States, as well as in other regions.
