Record-breaking heatwave sweeps Nepal: Nepalgunj hits 44.2°C, Dhangadhi at 44.1°C

KATHMANDU: On Thursday, the highest temperature so far this year was recorded in Nepalgunj at 44.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by Govinda Jha from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Similarly, on the same day, Dhangadhi experienced a maximum temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius.

Other notable temperature readings include Biratnagar at 41 degrees Celsius, Pokhara at 34 degrees Celsius, and Kathmandu at 34.4 degrees Celsius.

In the previous month, Bhairahawa reached a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius.
