Weather: Rain in some areas, Heatwave in others

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecast Division of the Weather and Meteorology Department has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of local winds and the partial impact of Cyclone Remal in the eastern region.
According to the department, states like Koshi and other hilly areas are experiencing partly to generally cloudy weather, while the rest of the country has mostly clear skies.
During the day, Koshi State and other hilly areas will continue to have partly to generally cloudy conditions, with the remaining regions experiencing partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.
There is a possibility of light rain with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in some places within the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.
At night, there is a chance of light snowfall in a few places in the high mountainous and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.
Meanwhile, in some parts of the Terai regions of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini States, maximum temperatures have been recorded at 40 degrees Celsius or higher over the past few days.
The department has warned of the possibility of extreme heat in the Terai regions for the next few days and has urged necessary preparations and precautions.
There is a forecast of hot winds and heat waves in these areas until May 31.
