KMG Chair Sirohiya brought to Kathmandu for medical treatment

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, the chair of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), who has been staying in custody for the past seven days, has been brought to Kathmandu.

He was granted permission by the district court of Dhanusha to be detained for three days last Monday amid citizenship disputes.

However, after health complications arose, Sirohiya, who was staying in the hospital, was brought to Kathmandu for treatment, as informed by Ranjan Awale, DSP at the District Police Office, Dhanusha.

Sirohiya will be admitted to Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. He has reportedly been suffering from high blood pressure, fluctuating heart rate, and chest pain.

The district court has granted permission to detain Sirohiya for three consecutive days each time for investigation purposes.
