KATHMANDU: The District Court of Dhanusha has denied bail and ordered Kailash Sirohiya, Chair of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), to remain in custody for an additional three days.
This decision extends his detainment amidst an ongoing citizenship controversy.
Previously, Sirohiya’s detention had been extended twice.
He was initially arrested in Kathmandu last Tuesday concerning the citizenship dispute.
Before being presented to the court on Friday, Sirohiya underwent a three-hour-long interrogation at the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Last Wednesday, the court had similarly extended Sirohiya’s detention by three days.
