Chitwan accident update: Death toll rises to two, 20 injured undergoing treatment (list)

KATHMANDU: Another injured victim from the Chitwan road accident has died while undergoing treatment.

Rajan Subedi, the truck driver who was injured in the accident at 17 Kilo on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, has passed away.

With this, the death toll from the accident has risen to two.

The deceased Subedi was a resident of Barhabise Municipality in Sindhupalchok. A 17-year-old boy also died in the accident.

The identity of the boy has not been confirmed, according to DSP Bheshraj Rijal of the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Rijal further reported that 21 people were injured in the accident.

Among the injured, the condition of four individuals is critical, 13 have moderate injuries, and three are in a stable condition.

The accident occurred last night when bus number Ba 4 Kha 9086, traveling from Kathmandu to Pyuthan, collided with truck number Na 3 Kha 7915, heading from Narayangadh to Muglin, bus number Na.7 Kha 3248, traveling from Kathmandu to Bardibas, and bus number Na 6 Kha 8968, traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu.

The injured individuals receiving treatment at the new medical college in Bharatpur are:

• District Pyuthan Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-7 residing Suraj Sunar aged 25, condition: moderate (he is understood to be a police officer serving in Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Circle).
• District Arghakhanchi Sitaganga Municipality-8 residing Pabitra Darlami aged 29, condition: normal.
• District Pyuthan Jhimrum Municipality-7 residing Puran Giri aged 28, condition: moderate.
• District Pyuthan Pyuthan Na.pa.8 residing Samir KC aged 20, condition: moderate.
