KATHMANDU: Dhanusha Police are set to take Kailash Sirohiya, Chair of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), to court for the third time today to request an extension of his custody. Sirohiya was arrested on May 21 on charges related to citizenship fraud.
The police have already obtained two three-day extensions, totaling six days, from the Dhanusha District Court for further investigation.
Sirohiya was admitted to the hospital on the same day the second extension was granted.
Currently, he is receiving treatment at the well-equipped Kavya Hospital in Janakpurdham. The police plan to take him to court directly from the hospital.
Sirohiya was initially taken to the State Hospital after experiencing high blood pressure and heart-related issues.
Doctors at the Provincial Hospital stated that his condition was stable.
However, he was referred to Kavya Hospital under the pretext of needing a CT scan.
Sirohiya remains under police supervision at the hospital, and journalists have not been allowed to visit him.
