Powerful Cyclone ‘Remal’ impacts Nepal: Alert in these areas

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division reports that local winds and the partial influence of Cyclone ‘Remal’ are currently affecting weather conditions in the eastern part of the country.
The Weather Forecasting Division has requested to stay alert as the powerful ‘Remal’ cyclone developed in the Bay of Bengal may affect four states of Nepal.
In Koshi State, general weather changes are observed.
The region is experiencing light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in several areas, while Bagmati State is seeing light rain in some hilly locations.

This afternoon, expect partly cloudy conditions in the mountainous areas, including Bagmati, Madhesh, Koshi, and Gandaki States.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati States, a few areas in Gandaki and Lumbini States, and isolated spots in other hilly regions.
There is also a chance of light to moderate snowfall in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Bagmati States.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear in Koshi State and partly to mostly cloudy in Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki States, and other hilly areas.
According to the division, the low pressure system developed in the Bay of Bengal turned into a cyclone on Saturday evening and is now in the form of a powerful cyclone.
The cyclone is moving towards the coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh.
