Madhav Nepal draws attention of PM to end parliamentary deadlock

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to address the ongoing deadlock in the parliament.

A delegation led by party chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal met with the Prime Minister at his residence in Baluwatar, submitting a memorandum regarding the resolution of the parliamentary impasse.

The memorandum emphasizes the need for discussions and meaningful dialogue to bring the opposition on board in order to move forward. It highlights the importance of addressing public issues through the policies, programs, and annual budget.

“The parliament is a platform to raise and discuss all kinds of public issues, drawing the government’s attention and guiding solutions. Therefore, our party believes the Prime Minister should advance by engaging in meaningful dialogue and taking the opposition into confidence to remove the ongoing obstruction in parliament,” the letter stated.

Vice Chair of the Unified Socialist Party, Pramesh Hamal, informed that Prime Minister Dahal is actively working to initiate productive discussions and negotiations with the Nepali Congress and other opposition parties.

He assured that the parliamentary processes would soon resume their regular course.

Party Chair Nepal expressed his expectation for proactive efforts from the Prime Minister to end the parliamentary deadlock and assured full support from his party to the Prime Minister’s initiatives, according to Vice Chair Hamal.
