Kid drowns to dead while swimming

KATHMANDU: An 8-year-old girl drowned while swimming in a pond located in Chhatabeli, Ward 9 of Duhabi Municipality, Sunsari.

The young girl, Pabitra Rishidev, daughter of Baiju Rishidev from Gadhi Rural Municipality-1, drowned on Saturday afternoon.

Pabitra was immediately rushed to Birat Teaching Hospital in Tanki for treatment after being found unconscious in the pond.

Despite the medical team’s best efforts, she unfortunately passed away during treatment.

Police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
