KMG Chair Sirohiya hospitalized after health deterioration
Sirohiya, who was arrested in Kathmandu last Tuesday and taken to Janakpur overnight, has been unwell for two days.
KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, the chair of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), was admitted to the hospital after facing health issues.
He has been in police custody for four days and was admitted to Kavya Hospital on Friday night.
Sirohiya, who was arrested in Kathmandu last Tuesday and taken to Janakpur overnight, has been unwell for two days.
On Friday, his condition worsened with high blood pressure, fluctuating heart rate, and chest discomfort, following which he was taken to the provincial hospital in Janakpur.
Due to the lack of facilities for neurological examinations at the state hospital, Sirohiya was transferred to Kavya Hospital.
According to reports, he was discharged from the hospital after being treated there.
Sirohiya was arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday evening.
The team included Chief SSP Sanuram Bhattarai and SP Ravindra Regmi.
He had been facing charges related to citizenship fraud, for which the District Court in Dhanusha had issued an arrest warrant against him.
